Entire 3rd Floor Room with En Suite Bath in Sunny

We are renting a large and beautiful room in our home that comprises the entire 3rd floor and includes a private, en suite bathroom with black-and-white hex and subway tile. Wake up to the sunrise and bright light with the five windows or watch the storms roll in. The bright ocean colors complement the dark hardwood floors. The east-facing window has a bench seat, which faces the park and lets in ocean breezes. The north-facing windows look out over the rooftops to Asbury Park. Partially furnished with large cedar-lined dresser, two sets of large cabinets, a hanging closet, and a bathroom cabinet with shelves and a drawer. A robust air conditioner keeps you cool in warmer weather, and a Google mesh network provides great Wi-Fi.

The main bedroom area is 21’ x 12’, the private, en suite bathroom is 8’ x 6’ and the walkable closet/bench area is ~8’ x 4’, for a total square footage of 332 square feet, not including the built-in storage cabinets. It’s a huge room ☺

The cheery and light-filled home is perfectly situated across from a small community park with a short 4-block walk to the Atlantic Ocean, 2 blocks to downtown Ocean Grove (OG) and 3 blocks to downtown Asbury Park (AP). Hopping the train to NYC is easy with the AP train station only 0.5 miles away—a 10-minute walk.

Hardwood floors are throughout. Enjoy a chef’s kitchen, including four-burner Wolf gas stove with center grill, Subzero refrigerator, Bosch dishwasher and Wusthof knives along with a large cutting board and access to wide-range of cookware and utensils. This rental includes access to all common spaces on the first floor and to the new high capacity washer and dryer in the unfinished basement as well as dedicated space in the refrigerator, cupboard and pantry for your food and kitchen items. There is an older but nicely tuned piano and a half-bath on the first floor for guests. In warmer months, the front porch is a wonderful place to sit and have a coffee or a glass of wine.

Ocean Grove (OG) is a beach town whose personality morphs each season. Winter is very quiet, and Mother Nature redesigns the beach, Spring livens up with downtown happenings and Summer is an all-out packed family festival. Two blocks away, downtown OG has Odyssey Coffee, Seagrass, the Starving Artist and Dale and Dollops along with other cool retail shops. Our main mode of transport is bikes and walking, especially in non-winter months. On-street parking is free and plentiful until the crowds arrive in the summer.

This beach house is occupied by a business-owning/former corporate mom, her 14-year-old son and a hypoallergenic dog. We have our separate bedrooms, bathroom and office on the 2nd floor. We are looking for someone who is a good fit for our home and our family. We are clean and considerate—though the occasional school project may arise. The mom is dairy-free, gluten-free and mostly fragrance free. There is no similar requirement for you of course, but if you have dietary restrictions, please know that we understand and will work together to keep everyone safe and healthy. We love being active outside in warmer weather and cooking and creating in colder weather.

The monthly rental includes WiFi, gas, heat, electric, water, trash, sewer, cleaning every two weeks, common kitchen and laundry supplies such as dish, dishwasher and laundry soap and garbage bags. Rental is October 15, 2024, through May 15, 2024. Application ($20) with background criminal, sex offender and credit checks ($35) required. If you are approved, signing the lease plus 1.5 month's security deposit ($2000) and first month's rent ($1375) secures the room. Due to severe allergies, we cannot accept pets :(
